I bought this Life Magazine cover one year ago before we went to Europe on the Queen Mary 2, the successor to the original Queen Mary. [[ASIN:0821228846 Queen Mary 2: The Greatest Ocean Liner of Our Time]]It's perfect poster framing size for my wall and brings back the memory of the most famous of all ocean liners of all times, the one called the Gray Ghost in World War 2. It ferried troops back and forth across the North Atlantic and brought American soldiers home at the end of the war. I need the poster for my research about the time period, and it gives me a very good idea what the liner actually looks like before I see it docked in Long Beach, California. Since 1967 she's been a tourist attraction and a hotel.
Note: My grandmother sailed on this ship during her world cruise in 1960.
